Who we are

ixian.ca is operated by Ixian EV Inc. (“Ixian”, “we”), a subsidiary of Les Entreprises Voltis Inc., based in Shawinigan, Québec, Canada.

The person in charge of the protection of personal information at Ixian, as required by Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), is Fred Lambert, President. You can reach him at fred@ixian.ca. For anything else, write to info@ixian.ca.

What we collect, and why

We only collect what you choose to send us through the site’s three forms, plus the limited technical information needed to run it. You don’t need an account to use the site.

• Contact form: your name, email address, the subject you select (for example investment, dealer partnership, media or engineering), your message and the language of the page. We use this to answer you. The message is emailed to our team, and you receive an automatic confirmation email.
• Vehicle-interest form: the vehicle you’re interested in, your city or region, your country and, only if you provide it, your email address. We use this to understand demand by region and plan production; if you leave your email, we may write to you about that vehicle.
• Newsletter: your email address and language. We first send you a confirmation email, and you’re only added to our mailing list once you click the link in it. We use your address to send occasional updates about Ixian, and every newsletter email explains how to unsubscribe.
• Technical information: your IP address is used for up to 15 minutes to limit abuse of our forms. It is not stored with your submission or sent to the services that receive it. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs.

We don’t use your information for any other purpose without asking you first, and we don’t sell it.

Cookies and measurement

The site doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies. We measure visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and only gives us aggregated statistics such as pages viewed, referring sites, country and type of device. It also counts when a form is sent successfully (for example, which vehicle an interest form was about), without the content you typed.

Who handles your information

We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the site and respond to you:

• Resend: delivers the emails sent from the site (contact messages, confirmations, newsletter) and keeps our newsletter contact list.
• Google: hosts the Google Sheets spreadsheet where vehicle-interest submissions are recorded.
• Vercel: hosts the website and provides our cookieless visit statistics.

These providers process information on our behalf and under our instructions. Some of them store or process information outside Québec, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. We take this into account when choosing them.

How long we keep it

• Contact messages: as long as needed to answer you and follow up on your request.
• Vehicle-interest submissions: as long as they are useful to plan production, or until you ask us to delete them.
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. We don’t keep a list of sign-ups that were never confirmed; our email provider only keeps a standard log of the confirmation email it sent.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time; we will do so unless the law requires us to keep it.

How we protect it

The site is only served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, newsletter links are cryptographically signed so they can’t be forged, and access to the information you send us is limited to the people at Ixian who need it to respond to you.

Your rights

You can write to our person in charge of the protection of personal information at fred@ixian.ca to:

• see the personal information we hold about you, or receive a copy of it;
• have it corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
• withdraw your consent, including unsubscribing from our newsletter;
• ask us to delete it or to stop using it.

We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
